Overview

Cognation is a South Wales council initiative to promote mountain biking in South Wales for the economic benefit for the region. The brief was to design a website to promote the sport and deliver key information about the four 'trail centres' featured.

Solution

The whole basis for the design of the site design was content driven. The sites interface was designed to allow users to access information as quickly and easily as possible. The site had to be visually appealing, so followed the style of mountain biking magazines. The art direction could be described as ‘extreme sports’ styling without being exclusive as the site had to appeal to families. So although the site is aspirational in it's user experience, the content was deliberately toned-down to appeal to a wider, family-based audience. Visit the site at www.cognation.co.uk.
