Overview

The Welsh Rugby Union wanted to promote the WRU Membership Scheme and produce a identity for it. The brief was to create a new logo that was in-keeping with the current WRU brand, but be less formal with a community feel.

Solution

The logo design had to use the existing WRU logo. But the addition of a red ring adapted the design to create a new logo. The stencil typeface and distressed effect used helped to give the the design an informal and non-corporate feel. Rotating the text onto an angle also helped to achieve this. I created this logo during my time working for Golley Slater, Cardiff.
